Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using Vetsy (the “Service”), operated by Vetsy (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

Vetsy is an independent compliance-checking tool that helps Etsy sellers review their listings against Etsy's publicly stated policies. The Service includes:

• Listing Scanner — automated analysis of Etsy listing data against a library of 80+ policy rules, producing a compliance score and a list of potential issues.
• Appeal Letter Generator — AI-powered generation of draft appeal letters for sellers whose accounts or listings have been actioned by Etsy.
• Policy Library — plain-English summaries of major Etsy policies for educational reference.

Vetsy is an independent third-party tool. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Etsy, Inc. “Etsy” is a trademark of Etsy, Inc.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

3. Account Responsibilities

When you create an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information.
• Maintain the security of your password and accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Notify us immediately at support@vetsy.io if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.
• Not share your account credentials or allow others to access your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or are used in a manner we deem harmful to other users or the Service.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

Some features of the Service require a paid subscription. By subscribing, you agree to the following:

• Billing — Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. Payments are processed securely by LemonSqueezy. You authorise us (via LemonSqueezy) to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis.
• Free plan — Free accounts are subject to usage limits (currently 5 scans per month). Limits may change with reasonable notice.
• Cancellation — You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain access to paid features until then. No prorated refunds are issued for unused time.
• Refunds — We offer refunds within 7 days of initial purchase if you have not used the Service during that period. Refund requests after 7 days are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@vetsy.io.
• Price changes— We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.
• One-time purchases — Single appeal credits purchased outside a subscription are non-refundable once the appeal has been generated.

5. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

The appeal letters and other content produced by Vetsy's AI features are generated using large language models (currently Anthropic Claude). You acknowledge and agree that:

• Appeal letters are suggestions only, not legal advice. Vetsy is not a law firm and does not provide legal services.
• You are solely responsible for reviewing, modifying, and deciding whether to submit any AI-generated content to Etsy or any other party.
• AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any generated output.
• The submission of an appeal letter does not guarantee reinstatement of your Etsy account or listing. Etsy makes all reinstatement decisions independently.

6. Compliance Scan Disclaimer

Vetsy's listing scanner checks your listing data against a library of policy rules derived from publicly available Etsy policy documents. You acknowledge that:

• A scan result indicating no issues does not guaranteethat your listing complies with Etsy's policies, or that Etsy will not flag, remove, or act on your listing in the future.
• Etsy's policies change frequently. Our rule library may not reflect the most recent changes at all times.
• Scan results are advisory only. We do not accept liability for any action Etsy takes on your listings or account, regardless of scan results.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

• The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
• Vetsy does not guarantee that scanned listings will not be flagged by Etsy, or that generated appeal letters will result in reinstatement of any account or listing.
• In no event shall Vetsy be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of income, revenue, profits, data, business, or goodwill — arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
• Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees you paid to us in the 12 months immediately preceding the claim, or (b) $50 USD.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, software, and materials on the Service — including but not limited to text, design, graphics, logos, and code — are the property of Vetsy or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our express written permission.

You retain ownership of all content you submit to the Service (e.g. listing data, appeal questionnaire responses). By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to use that content solely to provide and improve the Service.

9. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or extract the Service's rule database or AI models.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service.
• Submit content that is fraudulent, misleading, defamatory, or that infringes third-party rights.
• Use the Service to generate content intended to deceive Etsy's trust and safety systems.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Grounds for termination include but are not limited to violation of these Terms, non-payment of fees, or conduct that we determine to be harmful to other users or the Service.

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it from your account settings or by contacting support@vetsy.io. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, and 12 survive termination.

11. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Vetsy operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved by binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction, as applicable.

If you are located in the European Union, you may also be entitled to submit a complaint to your local data protection authority.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the Service at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
